THE SHADOWS OF STRANDZHA: “BASTET” – A COLD WAR MYSTERY REAWAKENED

The story begins with a map found by a treasure hunter – and ends with the death of the dictator’s daughter. Between them: an Egyptian sarcophagus, alien technology, secret services, and… trucks filled with gold.

At the edge of the Cold War, in the dark and forgotten mountains of southeastern Bulgaria, a story unfolds that reads like a mix of Indiana Jones, The X-Files, and a lost Jules Verne manuscript. But it’s not fiction – it’s a real investigation, with casualties, state repression, and buried truths that have never been officially disclosed.

A Tomb from Another Time – and Possibly Another World

It all starts with a strange map found by a local treasure hunter named Mustafa. Made of animal skin and covered in hieroglyphs and geometric patterns, it eventually reaches the hands of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS). The renowned Bulgarian clairvoyant Vanga, consulted by Lyudmila Zhivkova – daughter of Communist leader Todor Zhivkov – claims the map points to the burial site of Bastet, an Egyptian princess of Thracian origin.

Vanga warns that the sarcophagus in question contains the story of the world – 2,000 years before and after us – encoded in symbols carved into black garnet. It’s not gold that matters, she says, but the message. Lyudmila is warned not to disturb the tomb. She ignores the warning.

The Secret Dig That Should Never Have Happened

Zhivkova assembles a small team – her personal assistant, archaeologists, researchers, even a driver and a mining technician – and sets off toward the town of Malko Tarnovo, near the Turkish border. They begin a clandestine excavation in an area known as Gradishte.

One night, something extraordinary happens: when the moon rises, the slope of a nearby hill lights up like a movie screen. The team watches in terror as two giant human-like figures appear – a pharaoh on a throne and a standing man behind him. The vision vanishes. Vanga later tells them they saw holographic projections of beings from a distant civilization.

And Then… They Start Dying

Not long after, Lyudmila Zhivkova dies suddenly under mysterious circumstances. Other deaths follow – a minister who supported the dig, the original treasure hunter Mustafa, the team’s mechanic, researchers, and even the clairvoyant’s niece. Some are imprisoned, others are tortured. Mustafa is beaten and dies shortly after his release. One man is held for months in a basement prison. Another is sentenced to 15 years in jail. Most go silent under threat of arrest and disappear from public life.

Gold Trucks, Missing Stones, and Alien Tech

Rumors persist that trucks loaded with gold left the site. Some say alien artifacts were found – including a twelve-sided black garnet stone engraved with unknown inscriptions. Items are allegedly shipped to East Germany for analysis, never to be seen again. The Bulgarian state takes over the site and classifies the operation. The area remains restricted to this day.

Daily Press Investigation: Between Fact, Myth, and Geopolitical Cover-Up

Daily Press examined declassified reports, spoke to surviving witnesses and family members, and investigated international interest in the site. Satellite scans from the 1990s show magnetic anomalies. Foreign researchers continue to visit, and even today, the Bulgarian government remains silent.

There is interest from Russian and Chinese geoscientific teams. Some clairvoyants claim the area is a dimensional gateway, affected by alien energy fields, teleportation, and time travel. A psychic “lock,” they say, prevents the truth from being revealed.

Conclusion: A Secret Humanity May Not Be Ready For

Was the tomb of Bastet real? Was Lyudmila Zhivkova silenced for getting too close to it? Was it gold, or a message for future civilizations? One thing is clear: someone didn’t want the truth to come out. And they succeeded.

The shadows over Strandzha remain. The goddess still guards her secrets.
